Embracing Mathematical Diversity |
|
" If we are to close the achievement gap in this
country, we must embrace the rich diversity of our students and how
they think, and we must engage our students in a rich diversity of
mathematical ideas and teaching approaches. During this meeting, you
will have an opportunity to hear many points of view about how we can
improve mathematics teaching and learning. More than 1,000
presentations will help you learn new ideas, acquire new knowledge,
and challenge old ways of thinking. As you participate in the various
aspects of this meeting and the associated exposition, you will
develop as a person as well as develop as a teacher or in whatever
role you play in mathematics education." |
